PERRET SCHAAD was founded in 2009 by Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad, shortly after graduating from the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. In January 2010, the duo was invited to show their debut collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. This July 2011, together with their Spring/Summer 2012 collection, PERRET SCHAAD will present an exclusive and limited shoe collection, designed for the well-established German Shoe retailer Görtz. The PERRET SCHAAD vision is driven by creative curiosity and individual definitions of beauty. Ideas and experiments are combined into an eloquent high quality line. The approach shows great respect for traditional handcraft and techniques, along with a certain irrepressible impulse to disobey the rules.	A love for pattern cutting and passion for draping are fundamental in creating the PERRET SCHAAD aesthetic. Through an intuitive design process sculptural forms meet fluid lines, while the designer´s sensibility for colour combinations and material layering generates structure to their collections. PERRET SCHAAD´s obsession with contrast and harmony is reflected by the confrontation of the finest natural fabrics with highly innovative technic surfaces. The palette is subtle and surprising, the silhouette elegant and new. The look is discrete and impertinent, inspiring the wearer to play with contrasting facets.

The PERRET SCHAAD Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collection is inspired by the light of a winter midnight.
The palette reveals an opulent life within the discretion of night. Hard black and graphite portray the bold moment of the calm dark, while night greens evoke the vicinity of sleepy nature. Ice white and alabaster greys draw a beautiful coldness, but cypress tones whisper promises for spring. The omnipresence of light within the darkness is an aura that is evoked through material composition as well as colour.
PERRET SCHAAD inclines toward rich fabrics and pairs them with contrasting characteristics. In this collection, satins hold their power of gleaming shadows. They are interwoven with matte wool georgette and cloudy cashmere knits.

The designers confront traditional loden to innovative contemporary materials, and use transparency to relate the real to the abstract.
PERRET SCHAAD´s intuitive process of design manifests through contrasts. Rules of symmetry are broken by a touch of asymmetry. Volumes create cool attitudes while fine lines define an elegant silhouette. Through the combination of fluid and sculptural aesthetic, the designers propose a bold feminine look that plays with masculine elements.
With this season’s high-fashion collection, PERRET SCHAAD constructs and deconstructs, cuts and drapes, and ultimately dresses the modern woman.
